Solution 2: Fix the MSXML Component

  • Download and save the msxml.msi file on your computer
  • Open the Run window by pressing Windows + R 
  • In the Run window, type exe/fvaum “%userprofile%\Desktop\msxml.msi” and press enter
  • Now you can create or re-create the .dat file as required
  • Now register the MSXML DLL files

For Windows 8, 10, or Vista, follow these steps:

  • Press the Windows key
  • Next Type CMD
  • Then Right-click on the Command prompt and choose Run as Administrator
  • Now type regsvr32 MSXML3.dll and press the enter key
  • Upon receiving the message “DllRegisterServer in msxml3.dll succeeded”, click OK
  • Now type regsvr32 MSXML4.dll and strike the enter key to proceed
  • Upon receiving the message “DllRegisterServer in msxml4.dll succeeded”, click OK. (However, if MSXML.4 failed to register, you will need to turn off the User Account Control and turn it on after registration)
  • Now type regsvr32 MSXML6.dll and press the enter key
  • Upon receiving the message “DllRegisterServer in msxml6.dll succeeded”, click OK
  • Now restart your QuickBooks Desktop Application

QuickBooks Abort Error

For Windows 7, 8, 10, or Vista 64-bit, follow these steps:

  • Press the Windows key
  • Now type CMD
  • Right-click on the Command prompt and choose Run as Administrator
  • Type the following in Command prompt cd \Windows\syswow64 and press enter
  • Now type regsvr32 MSXML3.dll and strike the enter key
  • Upon receiving the message “DllRegisterServer in msxml3.dll succeeded”, click OK
  • Now type regsvr32 MSXML4.dll and press the enter key
  • Upon receiving the message “DllRegisterServer in msxml4.dll succeeded”, click OK(However, if MSXML.4 failed to register, you will need to turn off the User Account Control and turn it on after registration)
  • Now type regsvr32 MSXML6.dll and press the enter key
